Here’s how everyone is keeping themselves busy:

So those of you who are getting emails from me know that I like to keep my ear to the ground and see what you are all watching. Not just for me (although I love finding these things out), but also so that you, one of my fans, knows all of the things that are interesting the rest of my audience. I figured that since you already have being fantasy fans in common, why not use each other to see what other amusing things are out there? ūüôā

But remember, the only way I can gather this info for all of you is if you let me know!

So here’s the deal. I’m going to try separating this out into separate posts, just so it’s easier to navigate and see which category you want to find your new thing in.¬†Anything that I am personally a fan of, I’ll try to comment on just to sway you into choosing the dark side and becoming someone I can share my fandom with. ¬†So let’s start it out with some TV shows!

TV Shows:

Black Mirror

This show is truly awe-inspiring¬†in my opinion. ¬†Yes, the first episode is really tough to get through, and a bit… explicit for some younger audiences. ¬†But the good news is that there isn’t one contiguous story through the series, so if you’ve heard some of the whispers about the first episode, go ahead and skip it and enjoy the rest of the show unaffected.

One thing that does run strongly through every episode of the show is this idea of how technology in the not-all-that-distant future might have some backlashes. ¬†It kind of reminds me of Hawking’s and other prominent scientists’¬†warnings about making sure that Artificial Intelligence be kept under wraps.

Anyways, no episode ever gets too far out of the realm of possibility that it really does manage to send that chill of plausible fear through your spine in a completely non horror-esque way.  I know a lot of my audience enjoys this show, and I think you owe it to yourself to watch this nice modern sci-fi show put together by Netflix.

House of Cards

Ahhh Kevin Spacey. ¬†Whether he’s the¬†emotionless psychopath in Seven, the jerk of a boss in Horrible Bosses, or the determined, southern does-whatever-he-can-to-get-his-way politician like in House of Cards, he never ceases to amaze.

This show is another Netflix original, and when it’s not breaking the fourth wall to give you a deeper look into this man’s methods, it keeps you at the edge of your seat waiting to see what’s going to happen next. ¬†If you haven’t started watching this yet, I definitely think the first few, if not the first, episode(s) are going to get you hooked.

Stranger Things

What do you know? Another Netflix Original. ¬†I know a lot of people love this show, but at the time of writing this, I’m just barely starting to watch it. ¬†From my understanding, it’s some creepy stuff happening back in the 80’s, and the show does an excellent job using the 80’s motifs to make it feel like it was made back in that decade.

Sadly, I don’t have HBO, so I can’t watch this one yet. ¬†But I hear it’s excellent and a has a pretty good twist at the end of the first season. ¬†I’ll let you know what I think about it when I see it, but until then, if any of you have seen it, please give me your review of it!
